The Kevlar layer is then wrapped in a rubber sheathing followed by stainless steel braid. Finally, the whole thing is wrapped in a plastic sheathing. This combination virtually eliminates hose expansion for better pedal "feel," improved braking performance and superior resistance to chafing. Additionally, Bulletproof hoses feature crimped ends and a factory-style steel leader-tube at the disc brake caliper to ensure the hose stays routed away from potential hazards, such as tires and wheels, suspension and drivetrain components. This leader-tube, a critically important routing feature, is normally not found in other braided hoses.
